About the role

The engineer owns the lithography area of a 300mm manufacturing fab, working to make the processes robust and efficient. The job combines data analysis, experiment design and hands-on support for the people running the tools each day. The goal is better yield, throughput and cost.

What you'll do

  • Optimize lithography processes and procedures in the fab.
  • Plan and run experiments for new technologies and processes.
  • Drive yield, reliability, throughput, cost and safety improvements.
  • Use statistical process control and respond promptly to out-of-control conditions.
  • Decide the disposition of non-conforming material and write process instruction specifications.
  • Support operators, technicians and other engineers, and prioritize production support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in chemical, electrical or mechanical engineering, materials science, physics or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of statistical process control and design of experiments.
  • Experience with continuous fab improvement in yield, throughput and cost, ideally in a lean environment.
  • Understanding of semiconductor device physics and of metrology, inspection and failure analysis methods.
  • Strong data analysis skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Clear written and verbal communication and a team-oriented approach.

Nice to have

  • 10 or more years of direct lithography experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Direct experience with scanner and track equipment and processes from the major lithography tool suppliers.

Visa path

Senior lithography engineers often build an O-1A case from patents, publications, conference presentations, documented process-improvement impact, and a salary at the high end of the field. The posting states no citizenship restriction. An employer like this or a U.S. agent can file the petition, and approval depends on the individual's record.
