About the role
This role leads the physical execution of the perception hardware on a humanoid robot: cameras, optics and multi-gigabit data links on a moving, vibrating platform. The engineer takes custom sensor modules from prototype through validation and into manufacturing, and acts as the hands-on escalation point for hard hardware problems.
What you'll do
- Lead physical integration of the visual perception stack, moving camera assemblies from prototype to validated, production-ready designs.
- Define electrical, optical and mechanical specs for custom sensor modules and drive optical vendors and contract manufacturers through builds.
- Own bring-up, design verification and end-of-line test plans for custom sensor modules.
- Perform hands-on image signal processing tuning on the robot for both machine learning models and low-latency teleoperation.
- Lead bring-up of the multi-gigabit video links and debug EMI and signal integrity issues causing frame drops.
- Implement and measure hardware synchronization across cameras, LiDAR and IMUs, and build calibration fixtures that scale to the factory.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Electrical, Optical or Computer Engineering or a related field.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience integrating and shipping complex vision hardware for robotics, autonomous vehicles or AR/VR.
- Track record of taking custom perception hardware from breadboard through design verification into mass production.
- Experience working with optical vendors, CMOS manufacturers and contract manufacturers.
- Expert use of high-bandwidth oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and TDRs for signal integrity debugging.
- Strong linear algebra and 3D geometry for multi-camera and visual-inertial systems, with Python or C++ scripting to validate them.

Visa path
Staff-level perception hardware engineers commonly document O-1A evidence through patents, publications, leadership of shipped products, expert recommendation letters, and high salary relative to peers. The posting states no citizenship restriction. An employer like this, or a U.S. agent, can file a petition if the candidate's record qualifies; the outcome depends on the individual evidence.
