About the role
This research group works toward large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computers. The role leads work on new quantum error correction methods and sets research direction for future fault-tolerant architectures. It centers on code design, logical gate constructions and fault-tolerant circuit analysis.
What you'll do
- Lead research programs on new and improved quantum error correction methods.
- Set research agendas for next-generation fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures.
- Develop error-correcting codes with high encoding rates, large code distances and hardware-efficient layouts.
- Design and analyze constructions for non-Clifford logical gates, including magic-state cultivation and quantum LDPC codes.
- Analyze fault-tolerant circuits for syndrome measurement and logical operations.
- Publish results, present at conferences and work with internal and external research partners.
Requirements
- PhD, or equivalent experience, in mathematics, physics, computer science, electrical engineering or a related quantum computing field.
- 10 or more years of experience in quantum computing research.
- Strong publication record in quantum error correction.
- Demonstrated expertise in fault-tolerant quantum computing concepts.
- Ability to lead complex research programs and provide strategic scientific direction.
- English proficiency for global collaboration.
Nice to have
- Experience with quantum error correction experiments.
- Experience developing software for quantum error correction simulation and analysis.
- Publications on quantum LDPC codes, fault-tolerant algorithm compilation, non-Clifford gate circuits or error correction architectures.
- Experience collaborating with academic and industrial research organizations.
Pay & benefits
USD 262k–365k base + 25% target bonus + equity. The posting lists a 25% target bonus, equity compensation (discretionary and subject to approval) and a comprehensive benefits package. It also cites access to research infrastructure and collaboration with quantum researchers.

Visa path
Senior quantum error correction researchers often document O-1A evidence such as peer-reviewed publications, citations, invited talks, peer review service and original contributions to the field. A staff-level role with a leading research agenda can also support evidence of a critical or leading role and high compensation. The posting states no citizenship restriction. An employer like this or a U.S. agent can file the petition, and approval depends on the individual's evidence.
