About the role
The team is building a new electronic trading platform from scratch to replace vendor-dependent execution tools. It covers low-latency order routing, direct market access, smart order logic and algorithmic strategies across equities, options and futures. This role is one of the foundational engineering seats, with a near-term goal of putting direct market access into production for institutional clients.
What you'll do
- Design and harden the client-facing FIX acceptor that handles order entry, fills, acknowledgments, rejects and outbound sequencing.
- Build production feed handlers for exchange market data protocols such as ITCH and OUCH, replacing legacy data dependencies.
- Develop the venue connectivity layer and profile latency along the hot path from order receipt to exchange acknowledgment.
- Architect real-time pre-trade risk checks that fit within microsecond latency budgets.
- Contribute to configuration, command and control, normalized internal messaging and audit-trail logging.
- Gradually migrate existing algorithmic strategies from legacy infrastructure onto the new platform, component by component.
Requirements
- 7+ years building high-performance, low-latency production systems in C++.
- Deep knowledge of FIX 4.2/4.4 and the full order lifecycle.
- Experience with exchange market data protocols and production feed handlers.
- Strong grasp of low-latency techniques such as kernel bypass, lock-free structures, CPU affinity and memory layout.
- Experience with multicast messaging such as Aeron or LBM, plus Linux performance tuning.
- Understanding of U.S. equity market structure, including Reg NMS and lit and dark venues; Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field.
Nice to have
- Experience building algorithmic execution or smart order routing at a broker-dealer, prop firm or exchange.
- Familiarity with options or futures execution infrastructure.
- Pre-trade risk system design at firm and account level.
- Knowledge of CAT reporting requirements.
- Python for tooling and test infrastructure, and Kubernetes-based deployment.

Visa path
Engineers in low-latency trading systems often support an O-1A case with evidence such as a high salary relative to peers, critical roles at distinguished organizations, authored technical work, open-source contributions or recognition from industry peers. The posting states no citizenship restriction. An employer like this, or a U.S. agent, can file an O-1A petition, though approval depends on the individual's evidence.
