About the role
This is the first dedicated engineer at the point where security meets infrastructure for an enterprise AI customer-support platform. The work is to build the security foundations that let engineers ship services that are secure by default, and to support deals with security-conscious enterprise buyers. The person will shape the direction of the infrastructure security program.
What you'll do
- Design secure multi-tenant infrastructure that keeps customer data isolated while supporting efficient AI model serving.
- Build paved-path security templates, libraries, policies and automation so new services launch production-ready.
- Own infrastructure-as-code and GitOps practices, including reusable modules and policy-as-code.
- Expand and help run the systems behind alert detection, secrets management, IAM and automated remediation, tied into CI/CD.
- Turn compliance needs such as SOC 2, ISO 27001 and GDPR into automated technical controls with security, infrastructure and product teams.
- Take part in security on-call and improve runbooks, operability and incident learnings.
Requirements
- 5+ years building and operating production infrastructure, with exposure to security or strong interest in it.
- Deep knowledge of Google Cloud and/or AWS, including compute, networking, IAM and security services.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform or Ansible and experience building developer-facing automation.
- Strong coding ability in a language such as Python, Go or TypeScript.
- Experience with secure container deployment, service mesh and Kubernetes security.
- Observability and incident-response tooling experience and clear written communication.
Nice to have
- Early or founding platform, infrastructure or security engineer experience.
- Experience building internal platforms such as service templates or developer portals.
- Software supply chain security knowledge and static analysis tooling familiarity.
- Detection and response data pipeline experience.
- Enterprise compliance knowledge from an infrastructure perspective.
