About the role

This role makes the actuators that move a home humanoid robot buildable at scale, at reliable quality and acceptable cost. The engineer owns processes from prototype through production release, including machining, assembly, inspection and validation. The team is writing its production playbook alongside design, quality and supply chain.

What you'll do

  • Own actuator manufacturing processes from prototype builds to production release, accountable for safety, yield, quality and throughput.
  • Give design engineering DFM, DFA and DFT feedback and check tolerances against demonstrated process capability.
  • Build and qualify equipment, fixtures, tooling, gauging and automated assembly workstations.
  • Prove each process using DOE, MSA/GR&R, SPC and capability studies before release.
  • Deliver end-of-line functional test and traceability tying pass/fail data to process history.
  • Reduce cost, cycle time and scrap through automation, line balancing, root-cause action, PFMEAs and control plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's in mechanical, manufacturing, mechatronics, electrical engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years (Bachelor's) or 3+ years (Master's) in manufacturing, process or test engineering on electromechanical products.
  • Experience developing assembly processes for motors, actuators or other tight-tolerance systems.
  • Track record taking a process or equipment from concept through commissioning, validation and release.
  • Experience with CAD, drawings, GD&T and tolerance stack-ups, plus DOE, GR&R, SPC and root-cause skills.

Nice to have

  • Vacuum potting experience
  • Electric motor manufacturing such as coil winding, lamination stacks, magnet installation, welding or resin dispense
  • Automated equipment, PLC-controlled systems and machine vision inspection
  • Exposure to high-volume automation and precision gauging

Pay & benefits

USD 140k–190k + equity. The posting lists equity, medical, dental and vision coverage, paid time off and parental leave, a 401(k) with company match, FSA and HSA options, commuter benefits, disability and life insurance, and an employee assistance program.

Visa path

Manufacturing engineers in advanced robotics often support an O-1A case with patents, documented process innovations, critical-role evidence, pay level and expert recognition. The posting states no citizenship restriction. An employer like this, or a U.S. agent, can file an O-1A petition if the candidate's evidence meets the standard; approval is not assured.
