About the role
The company is building a software stack for neutral-atom quantum computers across four abstraction levels, each with its own compiler dialect. This role brings the developer's perspective into language, API and compiler decisions while they can still change. Its users are application scientists and the wider quantum research community using the open-source SDK.
What you'll do
- Bring a developer-experience view into language design, IR architecture and API reviews, pushing back on choices that make the stack hard to use.
- Prototype early error messages, visualizations and workflow sketches to stress-test API decisions.
- Help define how errors are represented, surfaced and attributed across compiler passes.
- Build circuit diagrams, error syndrome plots and result analysis tooling as APIs stabilize.
- Improve the path from program to emulation output to hardware job, including the command line and actionable feedback.
- Decide which internal examples become first-class primitives and write the first standard library pieces.
Requirements
- Experience building developer-facing tooling such as compiler frontends, LSP servers, linters, SDK APIs or notebook tooling.
- Comfort reading and writing both Rust and Python.
- Strong opinions about what good error messages look like.
- Interest in influencing platform or language design.
- Comfort prototyping against unstable APIs and feeding lessons back into design.
- Willingness to grow into compiler engineering on an SSA-based stack; no compiler background required.
Nice to have
- Visualization experience in technical domains such as signal processing, compiler IR or timing diagrams.
- Familiarity with Python packaging and the scientific Python ecosystem.
- Prior open-source work with an external user community.
- Exposure to DSL design or compiler ergonomics.

Visa path
Engineers in quantum software and compiler tooling often support an O-1A case with evidence such as open-source work with an external user community, publications, original contributions, and a salary high relative to the field. The posting states no citizenship restriction. An employer like this or a U.S. agent can file the petition, and approval depends on the individual's evidence.
