About the role

An independent professional baseball club is hiring one person to announce and produce its live-streamed home games for the 2027 summer season. The same person also supports the general manager with game-day operations and communication between team management, the field manager and the league office. The role pairs broadcasting experience with a hands-on look at how a pro baseball team runs.

What you'll do

  • Call live play-by-play commentary for every home game on the club's streaming broadcast.
  • Run the full stream production, including live-streaming software, a two-camera setup and live camera switching.
  • Add scoreboard overlays, player statistics and graphics to the broadcast, and start each stream at least 10 minutes before first pitch.
  • Coordinate pregame coverage, player introductions, game action and postgame coverage.
  • Monitor audio, video and internet quality, and fix technical problems during live games.
  • Help the general manager with game-day setup, schedules, roster updates and lineup documentation, and stay in contact with the field manager and league office.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of baseball rules, terminology and strategy.
  • Clear, engaging play-by-play announcing ability.
  • Ability to operate live-streaming production software and multi-camera switching.
  • Familiarity with sports graphics, scoreboards and broadcast overlays.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently and troubleshoot during live events.
  • Availability for the full 2027 home schedule.

Nice to have

  • Previous professional or collegiate broadcasting experience.
  • Hands-on experience with live-streaming production software.
  • Interest in sports broadcasting and sports management careers.

Visa path

Broadcasters in this kind of role often support an O-1B case with recorded broadcast samples, media coverage of their work, letters from industry figures and evidence of a distinguished track record in sports media. The posting states no citizenship or work-authorization restriction. A U.S. employer like this one, or a U.S. agent, can file the petition, and approval depends on the individual's evidence. Candidates at an early career stage may find the evidence bar hard to meet.
