About the role
The perception team needs its models to keep improving as the fleet meets new road conditions. This engineer builds the closed-loop systems that select the most useful data for training and prune what is no longer needed. The role links model design with large-scale data infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Design and scale pipelines that mine, ingest and manage large volumes of fleet sensor data
- Deploy active learning methods to pick the most impactful training data for incremental model updates
- Build evaluation methods and ground-truth-free metrics to detect regressions in model updates
- Run large experiments on data balancing, subset selection and label quality
- Create automated curation, pruning and downsampling strategies to cut dataset bloat and compute cost
- Develop mining, training and evaluation pipelines for rare, safety-critical scenarios using uncertainty and embedding signals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in machine learning, robotics or computer science
- 3+ years of professional experience in machine learning and/or computer vision
- Hands-on experience applying active learning in production
- Experience building large-scale ML data pipelines covering mining, extraction, auto-labeling and ingestion
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch or JAX, with strong production software engineering skills
Nice to have
- MS or PhD in machine learning, robotics or computer science
- Publications at top-tier conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS or ICLR
- C++ experience
- Experience building data-centric infrastructure from scratch
