About the role

This is a founding engineering seat on a new team building AI-powered products for the legal industry. The team works like a small startup inside a larger AI lab, moving from prototypes to scaled products. The engineer helps set the technical foundation for a product area that is just starting.

What you'll do

  • Build and ship full-stack products on top of the company's own AI models to solve problems in legal workflows.
  • Own projects from early prototype through production deployment and iteration.
  • Design user experiences and the frontend and backend systems behind them.
  • Build reliable, scalable systems on internal platforms and APIs, adding new technical foundations where existing ones fall short.
  • Work with product, design, research, applied AI and customers to turn user feedback into product decisions.
  • Help set engineering culture, technical standards and product practices as an early team member.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Track record of building and shipping full-stack applications from early prototype to production.
  • Strong frontend and backend skills and comfort working across the stack.
  • Ability to work in ambiguous, open-ended problem spaces and turn broad ideas into shipped products.
  • Strong product instincts and experience collaborating with users and cross-functional partners.

    Visa path

Engineers in founding AI roles often support an O-1A case with evidence such as original technical contributions, high compensation, judging or peer review, publications or patents, and press or recognition of shipped work. The posting states no citizenship restriction. An employer of this kind, or a U.S. agent, can file the petition, but approval depends on the individual's evidence.
