About the role
This small founding team is building a new product area that applies frontier AI to mechanical and electrical engineering. It creates experiences inside a chat product and integrations with engineering software, taking users from early concepts through design, simulation and production preparation. The engineer shapes the product and technical foundations from the start.
What you'll do
- Build and ship full-stack AI products that help mechanical and electrical engineers with design and simulation tasks.
- Own projects from customer discovery and prototyping through production deployment and iteration.
- Create interfaces that let users inspect, understand and refine complex engineering outputs.
- Develop backend services, APIs, plugins and integrations connecting AI models to engineering software.
- Work directly with customers to turn specific engineering needs into broadly useful products.
- Evaluate quality and reliability using customer feedback, and help set engineering practices for the growing team.
Requirements
- Independently built and shipped substantial software products with ownership across frontend and backend.
- Strong product instincts and UI judgment for tools that simplify complex work.
- Comfort working directly with users and turning their needs into product and technical decisions.
- Ability to turn an ambiguous opportunity into a working product and stay accountable for quality after launch.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar tools and domains quickly and communicate across disciplines.
Nice to have
- Experience building CAD, CAE, simulation or electrical design software.
- Experience building interactive tools for visual, spatial or technically complex workflows.
- Experience connecting engineering tools through APIs, plugins or extensions.
- Experience building and evaluating AI-powered applications.
- Experience taking a product from concept to production as a founder or early engineer.
